Ocean Beach is a village in the southern part of the Town of Islip, on Fire Island, within Suffolk County, New York, United States. The Incorporated Village of Ocean Beach is a popular tourist location, due to its popular nightlife and variety of stores and restaurants. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 79. Ocean Beach was incorporated as a village in 1921. It was the location of Fire Island's first elementary school, which opened in 1918. The community was once popular with celebrities such as Fanny Brice, Carl Reiner, and Mel Brooks. The American actor Brett King was born there in 1920. Source
