Sakuragawa River, Japan



Sakuragawa is a city located in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. As of December 2006, the city has an estimated population of 49,387 and a population density of 270 persons per km². The total area is 179.78 km². The modern city of Sakuragawa was established on October 1, 2005, from the merger of the towns of Iwase, Yamato-mura, and Makabe-cho. Iwase was formerly from Nishiibaraki District, while Makabe and Yamato were formerly from Makabe District. It has two JR East railway stations, one in Iwase, and one in Yamato, on the Mito line.  Source
